This system is ideal for a starter kit. If you're a college student, new surround or looking for something simple for a smaller room, is an excellent choice. The largest, this system is that I can connect my Xbox (RCA or digital). Keep in mind that if you connect with the RCA can not get surround sound, but the stereo sounds amazing. Coby was afraid of all the bad reviews on other systems. It really exceeded all expectations. Very clear sound, good price and a DVD player, make this great ideal.
I am 21 and live in an apartment where the rooms are not that great. I have a 100 sq foot of living. This system is perfect. When you have completed the set-up (took me about 30 minutes, running cables and all), put them in a DVD like Lord of the Rings to test the sound. If you leave everything to default, you will notice that there is almost no bass and center speaker is much more excited. Play with the settings for a bit ', you can get down off of it, just look in the menus.
